Cyber-attacks and data theft incidents continue be top of the risk register and threat actors' tactics and operating models are becoming increasingly sophisticated powered by AI and the professionalization of dark market for services. Many industries are specific targets - technology, utility, travel, banking and professional services. Successful attacks can cause serious threats to business continuity as well as giving rise to significant loss in the short and long term. It is vital for inhouse lawyers to be ready to respond as a core part of an expert incident response team and help mitigate the after-effects of successful attacks.
